21st Annual Entergy Teamwork Louisiana Conference Set for Oct. 14

Day-long conference to promote statewide economic development

Baton Rouge, La. – As Louisiana’s two largest electric utility companies, Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. are known for providing customers with electricity. In addition to delivering electricity, however, the two companies also work toward creating jobs and spurring economic development across Louisiana.

For the 21st year, the two companies will team up to host the Teamwork Louisiana economic development conference. This year’s event is set for Oct. 14 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge. Registration for the event begins at 10 a.m. while the conference concludes with an awards dinner beginning at 7 p.m. Additional information on the conference can be found at http://www.entergy-louisiana.com/Economic_Development/annual_conference.aspx .

The Teamwork Louisiana conference is the state’s largest economic development conference and offers parish and city officials from across the state a networking opportunity designed to stimulate business and industry in their communities. The conference brings together community leaders and officials from industry and government to trade ideas in an effort to learn news ways to attract businesses and promote economic development.

“Even though the name has changed, the Teamwork Louisiana conference retains the same goal of growing and promoting business across Louisiana,” said Renae Conley, president and CEO of Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. “The conference is an important part of our efforts to attract new jobs and to help grow local economies. Bringing together community leaders, businesses and government officials gives us a great opportunity to make a difference in communities across the state.”

Speakers at the conference include Mike Strain, commissioner of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Jubal Smith, director of site location, credits and incentives at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Dr. Lucian Conway, president of Conway Consulting.

The event starts with a demonstration of the Louisiana Site Selection Center Web site that will also provide training to those interested in using the new site. A panel discussion will feature mayors and community leaders who will share their success stories in creating economic development in their communities.

Entergy’s Teamwork Louisiana conference typically attracts the largest group of community developers and local and parish officials of any economic development conference in the state. Attendees network, set up economic development exhibits and attend educational sessions that sharpen their economic development skills.
Activities include business sessions and networking events. Communities and individuals showing exceptional economic development efforts will be recognized with special awards including a best booth award and special achievement awards.

Entergy’s Louisiana utility companies serve more than one million customers through the operating companies Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C.
