How safe is this?
Entergy
chose CheckFree because of their expertise and reputation in the online
payment business. They are currently the industry leader and offer similar
services for many businesses, including a number of other utility companies.
CheckFree uses a 128-bit encryption method, which is the most secure
encryption method available today. If you don't already have it, 128-bit
encryption can be downloaded from your browser vendor's web site. No
transactions will be handled through Entergy's web site. We will simply link
our customers to a web site maintained and secured by CheckFree. Entergy will
also not receive any of our customers' checking account information. All
transactions are handled by CheckFree.

How are payments made each month?
Each
month you will review your electronic bill and execute a payment order.
Payment orders are made by clicking on the "Pay" option and filling in an
"electronic check" as to the amount and date you wish the payment to draft
your checking account and post to your Entergy account. You do not have to
make electronic payment through the E-Bill online site if you do not wish to.
Be sure to allow processing time sufficient for the payment transaction to
post by the due date. The number of days you must allow vary among online bill
providers – please be sure you note any specific instructions.

Will I continue to receive a paper
bill?
No. Customers will be able to view and print their current bill
as well as their previous six bills from their computer. One of the advantages
of online billing is that it eliminates paper and paper work as well as
postage. However, you will receive paper copies of final billings, disconnect
notices, and late payment notices through the United States Postal Service.
Customers electing to participate in e-bill will continue to receive a paper
bill for 2 to 3 billing cycles after enrollment. Customers will be notified of
their last paper bill.

Is the electronic bill the same as the
paper bill I'm used to receiving?
The electronic bill has a unique
format for Internet presentation, however, the information is the same. We
believe you'll find the Internet bill format easier to read, plus it even has
some additional information to help you manage your electric usage. Look for
our graphic display of your electric (and gas where appropriate) usage for the
past 12 months.

How will I know when my electronic
bill is ready?
When you log onto the CheckFree E-Bill site, you will
see the number of new bills or statements you have received. CheckFree will
also notify you through e-mail that a new Entergy bill has been posted at the
CheckFree site. Naturally, CheckFree can only notify you if they have your
correct e-mail address, so please let both CheckFree and Entergy know if your
e-mail address changes.

How is this service different from
the automatic bank draft program?
With automatic bank draft, your
payment is automatically transferred from your checking account and you
receive a statement that shows the details of your electric bill and how much
was drafted. With the CheckFree E-Bill service, your payment is transferred
from your checking account after you view your bill online and then click to
authorize payment

Can I use this service if I'm already
paying my bill through the automatic bank draft program?
Yes, there is
a way. Signing up for the CheckFree service will allow you to view your
Entergy bill online while continuing to have your payment automatically
drafted from your checking account. Simply view your bill online, but don't
pay it. We'll continue to draft your payment as usual.

What if I'm dissatisfied with the
service and want to discontinue?
We certainly hope this would not be
the case, however, you can enroll and cancel Entergy's online bill service
anytime you like at no charge. To cancel, just log on to your CheckFree bill
inbox and delete the name of the biller you wish to deactivate.
